Later this fall I’ll have two ceramics-related poems coming out in Studio Magazine, Craft Ontario’s quarterly publication dedicated to arts, craft, and design. “Pica” and “Reclaim” will speak to all those who have caught the pottery “bug”, and I’m so excited to share them with you once they’re published.

Andrea Charise (she/her) is an artist-researcher working in ceramics, narrative, and digital media. A recent graduate of Fleming College’s Ceramics Certificate Program, Charise received the Haliburton School of Art + Design’s 2022 Ceramics Award. She now produces functional and sculptural ceramic ware as SQUARED CIRCLE CERAMICS, and is Biophilium Artist-in-Residence at the Ayatana Artists’ Research Program (Fall 2022). Her work has been featured in group exhibitions in Canada, Belgium, and online.
